Open-Realty v3.2.11 is now available. Existing users may upgrade using the one-click method or download the latest version from their customer area at Transparent Tech.
This release's most useful new features include new Blog API methods for Developers, and the new Agent and Blog custom search template tags that leverage these new APIs.
To support PHP v7 for the next release, we must still refactor a lot of the core program code in OR as well as our commercial add-ons in order to take advantage of improved methods and replace code that uses deprecated or removed PHP functions. Refactoring is taking a lot longer than expected, and not all PHP dependency libs are fully compatible yet, so we have implemented a temporary freeze on new feature development while we finish this necessary work, please bear with us. We will also be releasing some small updates to our TransparentMAPS and TransparentRETS add-ons very soon.
PHP v5.5 - 5.6 is required. Do not attempt to upgrade Open-Realty if you are currently using PHP 5.4 or earlier.
Bug Fixes
- OR-81 Properly closed the table used in the default saved_searches.html template file.
- OR-298 Added an additional sanity check to user update API method.
- OR-300 Removed an unnecessary
<br />
tag that was being rendered when a Type: Date field was used with the {listing_field_FIELDNAME_value} template tag. - OR-305 Fixed a bug with the media widget where if a file was uploaded manually (not drag and drop) it would upload successfully but the widget would not display the new file until the page was reloaded.
- OR-308 Fixed a small bug we created with the mortgage Calcs in the example templates when load_js was deprecated.
- OR-309 Fixed a deprecation warning message in the ADODB lite adodb_get_gmt_diff() function
New Features/Improvements
- OR-81 Removed deprecated {url_search_rental} template tag functionality.
- OR-81 Removed hard coded size="5" that were present in some search form fields so that control of this functionality can be returned to the template designer via CSS.
- OR-81 Added a new block tag: {!no_search_results_block} {/!no_search_results_block} for use on the search page. This can be used to hide content when a "no results" condition exists, but will display the enclosed content under normal conditions.
- OR-81 Update the HTML5 example template's listing_detail_default.html template file to use its own configurable slideshow JS function instead of the non-configurable slideshow function inserted by OR. New function does not depend on the thumbnail image attribute 'title' to obtain the main image URL information and uses a custom 'imgurl' attribute. Related to feature OR-271 from OR v3.2.10 release.
- OR-275 Refactored edit_user function to use user__read and fields__metadata API methods
- OR-275 Refactored delete_user function to use user__delete API method
- OR-275 Refactored log_action function to use the log_create_entry API method.
- OR-275 Removed a no-longer-used function: clear_cache().
- OR-275 Refactored some utility functions to use the User API methods instead of DB lookups.
- OR-275 Code refactoring and consolidation of the agent and member signup notification email functions.
- OR-297 If using GD libs for image processing, OR will check for EXIF rotation info for any uploaded .JPG files and attempt to rotate them back to the proper orientation before processing. Photos that are created using EXIF rotation instead of storing the image in the intended rotation are usually created via smart phones.
- OR-298 Added an additional sanity check to user update API method.
- OR-299 Created a new {agents_custom_search_result_block} tag set that works exactly like the existing {listings_custom_search_result_block} feature, but for Agents. The Admin account will only appear in the results if "Show Admin on Agent list" is set to 'yes' in Site Config. Docs for this new feature are in the Public Template -> main.html template tags section
- OR-301 Added {blog_id} tag availibility to blog_index, blog_main templates and for use within {blog_recent_post_block}
- OR-303 Created new Blog API methods: Read, Search, and Delete
- OR-304 Created a {blog_custom_search_result_block} that works like its listing counterpart for generating custom iterated search results of Blog content. Docs for this new feature are in the Public Template -> main.html template tags section.
- OR-307 Improved the security of the email verification link for new Agent and Member signups.
- OR-130 Documentation revisions and additions
** PHP versions 5.5.x through 5.6.x are supported, v5.6.x is recommended. Earlier versions of PHP are not compatible. Do not attempt to upgrade Open-Realty if you are currently using PHP 5.4 or earlier. If you receive an incompatible ionCube loader error after upgrading, you will need to also update your ionCube loader software to a newer version or request that your host upgrade it for you. ionCube v5.1.1 is recommended at a minimum, newer is preferable.
Third Party library updates
- OR-252 Updated the filedrop.js lib for drag and drop uploads in the media widget.
- OR-306 Updated PHPmailer to v5.2.14 which fixed an autoload problem
